Eden Esports has announced more details about the LAN event that it will host at the end of the year, featuring eight teams and $300,000 in prize money.
The Champions Cup Finals will be held at the Intercontinental Conference Centre Arena, in Malta, from December 19-22, and will bring the curtain down on the tournament season, replacing SuperNova CS:GO Malta on the event calendar.
The top four teams of the $60,000 European Champions Cup, which is currently underway, will secure direct entry into the event, where they will join four invitees.
The eight competing sides will be split into two double-elimination groups, featuring a best-of-three format after the opening round of matches. The top two teams from both groups will progress to the single-elimination, best-of-three playoffs, with the losing semi-finalists facing off in the third-place decider.
The prize distribution for the tournament is the following:
1. $150,000
2. $50,000
3. $30,000
4. $20,000
5-6. $15,000
7-8. $10,000
The SuperNova CS:GO Malta was won by Liquid, who beat fellow North American side NRG in the final, with Keith "NAF" Markovic being named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament, which had $150,000 on offer.
